Broken: Man Emotions
He had an idea, a brilliant idea,
He thought it up when he was ten,
And he’d learnt this idea from looking around,
Looking at all of the men,
This small idea he enforced straight away,
To shut down part of his mind,
He pushed the emotions he wore on his sleeve,
He pushed them deep down inside,
And all of his world praised his resolve,
They’d say “You’re emotionally strong”,
Not realising he’d just ignored who he was,
And yet he was made to belong,
Until, one day, later in life,
He saw the reflection of a fraudulent fake,
Alone with a mirror in a bitter cold room,
His tears wrote he’d made a mistake.
