Broken Homes

I look around and all I see is confusion People walking around with happy faces of illusion Their hearts filled with emotion, but empty with love Everyone unhappy, just calling the other persons bluff A battlefield, I never thought I would be Now it’s just the war inside of me Left and right word-bombs are falling I’m screaming, fighting, but no one even hears me calling Inside we are all slowly dying Because there’s a truth each of us are denying Friends come first and family have to wait till later But when you turn it around they all just call you a hater People get into your head; they say it’s for the best But let me tell you, every day is just filled with more stress Now please let me make it better -Let me make it right If you’ll give me a chance I would like to stay and fight

Great poem. Says it all. I come from a very dysfunctional home so I can empathize. Oliver

This is beautifully written; I am going to re-read it another time, because there is so much going on here. The inner beauty of this poem is grabbing me.
