Broken Hearted

A seeming kindness and gentleness wooed me
and like a wounded dove beneath your hand, I quivered.
To calm a flight filled heart was your decree
and yet conquest and not contact was delivered
wanting, waiting, for your touch I shivered.

Relenting to your advances brought only laughter.
My simple-hearted sweetness a mere joke
and all my dreams of now and ever after,
left in drifts as black as smouldering smoke.
Kindness was for you a treacherous cloak.

Broken hearted, left beside an open door,
formless yearning, unrequited tokens torn,
this damned man I trusted, I now abhorred,
may the seven levels of hell see him shorn,
for there is no fury like that of a woman scorned.

Oie, love sometimes slips through a door on untimely occasions, Debs. Hope whoever these people could have been will find reconciliation. One might leave trusts door ajar and find a wonderful being walk through. This is a heart strumming write! Best wishes, Love, Mikki

Well Cher, I see you certainly haven't lost your touch! This one is absolutely exquisite. Yep, I've been away for a while...got a severe case of writer's block due to some recent changes in my life. Stay in touch my friend...

though I have been where you are and would never purposefully..hurt anyone..allowing oneself to be hurt, is UNHEALTHY, it is called the MARTYR acheotype...and thank GOODNESS I have given up on that one ;)

Debbie, this is something I saw the hurt and the emotion that you feel, very good my friend, it was written from the heart. Remember that you always have Love from the Father, it is better tofind out now then when it is to late, when you trash a trust that is a sin, it's on the other and not you, God loves forgiveness but never everforget, it will make you stronger, God bless Bob

Packed with extreme passion. Ingenious of you to start the poem with a lighthearted gentleness that overcomes the reader with a heated finale <3
