Broken Dreams
What revelation! I saw the light,
A simple plan, my future bright.
I put my hopes and dreams in action,
Solely for my own satisfaction.
A perfect plan with one thing lacking,
Needing father's financial backing.
But when I plead to fund my way,
"Son, not today," was all he'd say
Each day I'd rise and ask him why,
He only gave the same reply.
I knew then to make my dream complete,
I'd have to stand on my own two feet.
But stubborn pride and temper swollen,
I blamed him for my future stolen.
Twas justified or so it seemed,
I vowed revenge for all I dreamed.
So late one night while father slept,
Into his room I slowly crept.
I planned to kill without a sound,
Instead he woke and knocked me down
I tried to rise, but something's wrong,
The strength once there was dead and gone.
Too weak to stand, I crawled away,
For now I'd know the hell to pay.
