Broken: Broken Love

She's every season in my heart,
Since the moment we first met,
From long, hot, happy sunny days,
To miserable cold and wet,

Her seasons seem to come and go,
Spinning all the time,
Holding love in her open heart,
As though it's by design,

And her season which I love the most,
When her love's the warmest heat,
Is when our hearts are cold as hell,
When we both can taste defeat,

It's at the end of her wintry chill,
Our hearts both start to thaw,
And all our hurt has dripped away,
And we're broken on the floor.
