Broken Amnesia

Like a leprechaun
Chasing rainbows
Looking for your pot of Gold
Knowing in your heart that you will never acquire it
But, refusing to admit defeat to yourself
All the while killing the one who remains true

Stagnant heart
Dancing with ghosts of the past
Living in the cemetery of broken ideations
Worshipping her corpse
Your soul roams the eerie night trying to recapture what has been extinguished
long ago

Blackness surrounds you
Unable to discern the truth
Discarding the sunset, waiting for your crescent moon, ending up in darkness
again
No birth of bliss when you reminisce
Sinking deeper into madness with every memory
But, still unable to say goodbye to the dream of loving her

Drowning in this castle of tears
Bathing in the blood of your betrayal
Drinking bitter wine from the chalice that bore fruition of our bond that was
cracked by the iron maiden that is wearing you down, yet still I thirst for what is
being denied to me

Upon a moonlit star I wish
That clouds of amnesia would erase her completely from your mind before your
obsessive desires suffocate us both
Start anew with the oxygen I breathe into your dying lungs so that you may be free
of the reservoir that cannot be resurrected
