Broken

This poem is from the Ten Pictures, Ten Poems, Ten Poets, Ten Days
challenge by Debbie Guzzi.

Painting #3
The Blue Cat, by Pamela Colman Smith 1907

Broken

what once was is gone
stripped from her heart, gone
emptied from her veins
her heart in pieces
broken remains

memories pain
yearns yesterday
the sheer beauty
sifted like sand

Blue Cat stained
thirsting love
remembers

herself
in love

once
