Written: March 15, 2025, for contest Sponsored by Brian Strand ************* Did happiness lie beyond that high wall? Perhaps such joy dwelled, nowhere at all, Only pain could stir that brief, elusive call.

Sad to not have hope and always finding great obstacles in finding joy. I guess it is for some my friend. Best wishes for the contest...

High SP, This makes me think about motivation. How do we become happy and is it possible? For some of us it seems so difficult. You describe hopelessness and why it sometimes takes so much help to get moving in the right direction. This is quite inspirational in that it has implied praise for people who make a difficult effort. Smiles!!

Hi Sotto, despite the brevity of this single verse, it speaks to me of sadness and despair. I've never been one to get stuck very long playing the negativity game, but I know people who do, and this poem reminds me of their sadness. For these poor souls my heart aches and I pray for their redemption above all others. Thanks for the brain food! Terrell
