Bridges

There is a terrible darkness enveloping our land
We now need to focus on where we will stand
There is so much hate and expressed ill will
As time marches on, how much more blood will we spill

I remember my Mom’s words so clear to this day
Don’t hate the person but what they do, she would say
There is a lot of wisdom spoke in that one line
All people can change and end up just fine

Maintain every bridge, keep it there for to cross
Don’t ever burn them down and suffer such a loss
Love your friends and your enemies as well
For in the house of God we could all one day dwell
