Breathing

I take only shallow breaths.

I realize this laying on the floor, feeling the stress drip from my feet
Counting the breaths that count my life.

I take only shallow breaths.
            My life speeds by.
And then,
            Sometimes,
As if to pull all that time back into myself,
I stop breathing all together.
