Breath Taken
I'd like that
breath back,
the one you
stole,
when I saw a
beautiful
shade of blue
rippling
to the shore.
Maybe it wasn't
the blue that
was the thief,
maybe the
wonder of the
crater slipped in
and stole it
right from my
lungs. Maybe
the culprit was
the gentle breeze
or the light
splash
of
cool water
in my
face.
But all in all, that summer day,
I knew how it felt, my breath
taken
away.
