Breath of Sadness
A sadness flows through my veins
each time my heart-beats
I see a world no one else sees
never to again feel the quiet dimensions of love
I feel I have become the last sand to arrive on the shore
I am the black empty sky, no stars fill
the final lonely bird sitting on a bare limb
as all its leaves have fallen, to be blown away
I AM...I CRY
there except for every shade of shadow, go I
as I walk in the midst of the mist, never understanding
trying to find what I know will never be found
I'm lost in moments that pass so quickly
they are forgotten before realized
I turn and spin as I rotate to see nothing
I've lost control of something that never was
this illusion to the eyes of my soul has passed
and became rippled reflections
spreading out from the center of my heart
where nothing exists now but deep roots of sadness
growing ever deeper
stretching across my blue world
where my love was uninvited
where I wish it had never been born
where I lay alone and brokenhearted
