Today, I pray
For joy and peace
Whispers of faith
Breathtaking grace
Today I pray
For hope and love
Sent down from above
To minister great delight
Today I pray
For the sun to warm
The heart and the soul
With kindness and wonder
Today I pray
For the rain to feed the earth
Break the plants free from dirt
To form small inklings of pods
Today I pray
For the inspiration to give
The gifts found in the heart
The ones that reveal true worship
Today I pray
For a glimpse of God’s breath
Breathing allegiance into everything
Loyalty to keep on giving all
Today I pray
For the chance to give back
Only a little of what I’ve know
As blessings that fill up my spirit
Today I pray
For a ray of light to guide
My heart through the moments
Of worry, fear and hopelessness
Today I pray
For His sweet, amazing grace
To purify every thought and deed
To lead me to that old, rugged cross
Today I pray
For the opportunity to give to Him
The thanks that He so deserves
The worship that praises His love
Today I pray
For love that is alive and dances
Through the soul with dazzling light
That is so bright it comes from His Love
Today I pray
For the answers to my reservations
The assurance that He is with me
Forever guiding me to victory
Today I pray
For a life that will not be struggle free
But a life that will give Him what He needs
A heart that is filled with faith that breathes
