Breath of Fresh Air

rip tides swallowed it‘s prey

              opened an underworld

                            of breathless surrender

                                          hobgoblins mocked descent

a sinkhole of laughter

              sardonic grins prevailed

                            in face of their current

                                          disbelief of survival
