Breath of Contemplation

Breath of Contemplation

Like the breath of serenity not ruffling still waters,
Nor fire bolts leaping cloud to cloud ignited by thunder,
Contemplation reclines in unexplored spaces
To drink in the sweet nectar of seclusion
Or revisit the rhythm of the undiscovered heart
In gauzy watercolors come into focus
As solitude bonds with eternity – no plagiarism of reflection -
When destiny reaches out to climax with reality in soft a-ha’s
As the gypsy vagabond, sovereign of unclaimed space,
Simple hermit of the unentitled spirit,
First lays a velvet touch upon an unnamed star
Separating layers of scratchy sackcloth in the penitent soul,
Musings pulling magic from the unexplored womb,
Unfettered songs in melodies like softly falling sacred snow
To save remnants of old revelations -a cloak of many colors –
For bits and unidentified glimpses snatched by the soul and Spirit
Beyond unchained chaos in conversations with the divine mind,
Across the cavern of conscience a new universe to plant a celestial flag
That radiates warm invitations to ponder the dusky surface depths
Then return in the fragrance, exotic allure, of unveiled reveries.

Lots of strong imagery here Sam, notable are the first two lines. The "a-ha" moments are many, in particular I stopped at "penitent soul", says so much about Western religion. Thanks for sharing your contemplations with this winning verse. Congratulations.

Hi Greg! Contemplation was an amazing theme to contemplate and explore. For me it turned out to be the true home of the poet, musician, artist and writer. Thank you for your always sensitive and very thoughtful, insightful messages. I always look forward to them. So grateful for your congratulations and your message. Easter blessings to you!

Perhaps when things return to normal, we will miss the "sweet nectar of seclusion." It is when we're alone like this that we do our deepest thinking. This is an amazing poem, Sam. Congratulations on your well-deserved win! Hugs, Carolyn

Carolyn, I think you are exactly right! When life revs up again we will lose those long hours of thinking deeply and, hopefully, that experience, of many long months, will stay with us as a well honed habit. Thank you so much for your congratulations. So happy you enjoyed the result of my "contemplation!" All the best. Blessing of joy for your Easter celebration.
