Breaking News on Tossing Trash

We used to think about the stars more distant than the planet Mars But now we only think of Earth which puts a damper on our mirth For on the ground and in the air There’s so much crud we just can’t bear So all of you who toss your trash You ought to be, but aren’t abashed Be warned! We have a brand-new plan That we are sure will soon you land In jail in your respective towns And change your smiles to ugly frowns So if you like your freedom, guys Don’t toss your trash! ~ A word to the wise

I like the sentiment of this poem. It is irritating to see litter. I'd also like the offenders to be forced to pick up trash for a few hours- an appropriate consequence for their acts.

When the air smells fresh and clean one feels free to look at the stars.

Lol, best place for them Gershon, nothing more unsightly than garbage dumped everywhere. Enjoy your weekend. Tom

ah, yes, rhythmic and wise words, Gershon. Do you know the trash 'guys' that empty our recycle bins actually glance in them to make sure we've only placed 'recyclable' materials in them. If they perceive the 'recyclables' aren't appropriate, they skip our can. Power to the trash cans, right?
