Break the Cycle; not the Queen

I am me The fierce and feisty one The fragile one The one that needs to be loved That needs protection That needs to be shielded from a world and some men that think I am a punching bag, a possession That can be owned That feels if I have a shred of independence I am a threat That my life is worth absolutely nothing When will it be enough? Why should days like this be planned in order to scream my WORTH To ECHO my value I am but just a carrier of your sons and daughters I am sometimes just the linked that holds the entire family together I need to be treasured and not cut down Or broken down by the person I once held dear That once meant the world to me Respect me enough to let me go if freedom is what I crave for Don't cut my life short, don't scar me for life just because I don't love you anymore Be a man that will do better with the next WOMAN Break the cycle; not the Queen!
*Dedicated to all the women who suffered under Gender Base Violence*
