Brave

Woven into the fibers
Of the forming child
Was the message of disdain
Unwanted, inconvenient
...must be brave

Survival is the fittest
Not babies without desire
Mothers who endure consequence
Of ignited fires
...must be brave

Anger rages like lava
Under the surface
Til the pressure erupts
Wounds heal, guilt steals
...the brave

Teenagers are the worst
With all their fears fully clothed
Destined to please the boss
Feelings must be lost in the loathe
...of the brave

Behaviors, behaviors
Buy us a favor
Please love me, if you will
I promise to be who you want
If you will never ask for the reel
...to capture the BRAVE

Note: There are some connections that are made before birth, that take a lifetime to untangle in the midst of a mangled heart.
