No it shouldn't, but a sense of purpose helps. We are all here for a reason. Overthinking a is something we all tend to do. I may be luckier than most in that I have always managed to have people around me to keep life in perspective. Not having that must be hard. We all need a break from our own company even if it is just going for a walk and seeing people worse off. I have had mentors in my life too. I think being sick as a child helped as it me me be more patient. Take care David in NZ
