Boxing Ring
I sat on a rocky in a lonely place
the things I saw that indicated
a lot to me about facts of life
I watched spiders trapping prey
preys trying to regain freedom
Lizards lying on rocks pretending
waylaying unsuspecting victims
once caught they were eaten gladly
I saw branches of trees swaying
to breaking point against winds
then fight back to former posture
as their roots struggling to push
against rocks for food and water
Then it came to me that the earth
is a boxing ring for all creatures
insects, animals, plants all creatures
the fittest survive, the weak perish
