My eyes fall on my dusty box of memories
it holds the eternal offerings from my heart
shared with broken-hearted lovers
these fragments of time
like fossils from another age
are taken from this box
to reveal themselves like stars
hidden behind yesterday's passing skies
where wishes left to silent flight
stargazing through changing times
still, haunt
when plucked roses fell to earth
and parting sadness was a companion
with each picture seen
my heart pauses to remember
the last moment of tenderness
the last moment of heartache
that cry watercolored tears falling endlessly
into my box
where my memories are kept
a reminder of another world
when life and love were young and vibrant
and passion was a fruit
to create memories with
