Bow of Hope and Promise
A unique ancient event,
An overwhelming flood,
Never again incident,
Promise from God above.
Mankind’s rescue from ruin,
Gracious act of Lord God,
In sight of man’s undoing,
Escaped His wrathful rod.
A new start for human race,
On dry ground, off the ark,
A new chance to about face,
If God they don’t depart.
There came a sign in the sky,
Made a timely debut,
A guarantee from on high,
Written in splendid hues.
A beauty like no other,
Powerful true image,
A bow of seven colors,
Each paying God due homage.
When water covered the earth,
The bow graced the mist sky,
Revealing creation’s worth,
In God’s yet watchful eye.
It’s a magnificent sign,
Arch in all its luster,
Work of Creator Divine,
Seen by looking upward.
