Bounty Is Counted Sweetest

This poem was inspired by Emily Dickinson's poem "Success is counted sweetest." It was
also inspired by the massive amount of candy my English teacher has given me and some of
my classmates for our good participation in class...

Bounty is counted sweetest
By those who always participate.
To comprehend the swirls of chocolate
Requires responses so great.

Not one of all the spoiled
Who ate the unearned delight to-day
Can tell the definition,
So clear, of Victory!

As they, glorious, smiling,
On whose worthy tongues
The approaching taste of triumph
Bursts saccharine and strong!
