Boundaries

We live within the boundaries We’ve established for ourselves, Which likely do not match Where any other person delves. For all of our parameters Are special and unique Tailored physically or mentally To comforts that we seek. The daring cross the borders Where adventures may await While most others rarely plunge Beyond the confines they create. It doesn’t pay to envy Those whose boundaries are immense For to violate our own might yield A sorry consequence.

Wonderful! I try my best to live with your wisdom, Ilene. I've always been aware of my limitations, so rarely take on matters beyond my abilities. The few things I do well at I am happy. Your final stanza says it all for me. About the "Peanut". What was confusing about it? Was it the word itself, in particular the "pea"? My gut feeling is that it means "small or little." / M

thank you, maurice! much appreciated! as far as the peanut poem, i only meant that the word "peanut" (which you pointed out in your poem is not really a nut) could confuse people since the word "nut" is included as part of its name...
