Bound To Love

They tell me not to be so quick to judge,
but you’re entitled to my attention.
Caressing the top of your spine, I nudge,
and you slide to me without pretension.

Pleased it was you, for whom I chose to reach,
I call for no other inspiration.
You open to my touch and start to teach.
Up front, you show me your dedication.

After a brief forward, I am engrossed
with all the depth and beauty you contain.
Your truths and wisdom are by far the most
comprehensible, even when arcane.

There’s nothing so stimulating, I think,
as this subtle perfume of page and ink.
