Listen to poem:

Born Again

Born Again
David J Walker

Ok,
He created the world in 6 days
	And then rested,
Which I am sure He needed
	After such a task
			But I am not Him
My gestation took 18 years to complete
18 years, 208 days when My birth began and
			Delivered 8 weeks later
All mean and green and fearless
                       basically hairless
                                    ready to kill or die

Ok,
That 6 days might have been 6 million
Or maybe 4 billion
			I don’t really know
All I needed to know
I learned in the 8 weeks
Before I was born again

I think my brain has the density of a black hole this morning - nothing is getting through... An 18 year old 'born again' as a member of the mean green fighting machine after 8 weeks of basic training?

Jeff, Yes, born again. I became who I am today as an 18-year-old, a young soldier completing a transformation. Others have other births...the same as we will experience our own deaths separately and individually.

Love those last 4 lines. We can talk about birth or being born again. Of course to be born again you must be born and oh how the Lord adores creation, conception, gestation and new beginnings. Without a beginning there can be no new beginnings. I could go on…lol

Kim, Thank you. Of all the things we are free to choose about ourselves, I think our "Birth" must be the most important.
