Borderless

Borderless
Sunlight
doesn't care
about fences.

A child laughs
somewhere
beyond the wall,
could be anywhere,
could be anyone’s.

At the market,
hands count money
in different languages
but tomatoes
taste the same.

Birds build nests
in barbed wire,
using what they find.

Planes cross
overhead
carrying people home
to places
that look different
but feel familiar.

We are all
walking
under the
same sky.
