Book Worm

Let me open you and inhale your smell
Move my fingers through your pages
         Bury neck in your spine
          As an avid reader does
Run my eyes filled with concentration
           Upon the story that's written
            Read between your lines
Trace out meanings hidden within poems
Scribbled by poets unknown known to me
Give a look at the marks
               That's favourite of someone anonymous
Or couldn't decipher your mute words
Unfold corners done at floated away eons
                  Who gazed you repeatedly
Across the ink dripped to words there
Unlock the treasure you have hidden within
As I turn your pages synchronizingly
You'll then shower rain of knowledge upon me
Reading you as my favourite book
And try to clear mist of my thoughts
           Through your perception of topics
And caress your dog-eared worn out pages
       Hold with utmost respect
      Near my heart
Till sleep takes me in her lap
Lost and twined in each others arm
The world wonders who holds whom
I take up this voyage each day
A love story that I won't let ever end

A true love story. Congratulations on your win in my contest. It took me a long time to judge, because every book worm poem was really good. And then I am in the process of unpacking a myriad of book boxes in our new home in Spain. So many gems, so many worms. Kind wishes, Kai
