Bonsai Christmas Tree
From a small little twig, grew a new seedling.
A slim and straight pine tree..leaves needling.
In evergreen make-up, it's branches spread.
Impatient to rise high, to clouds overhead.
But where is the woodland? Where is the snow?
Roots searched restless..a ground ..lost long ago.
A Bonsai Nursery.... fuzzied an occult vision,
Weeding and feeding ..in precise incision.
"Christmas is coming, what a booming business!.
Let's spruce up the firs... celebrate the Holiness."
Designer decorations of jingling bells
Baubles shining in the green leaf shells.
Cherries, berries, plums and apricots...
All in plastic...tinsels of polka dots.
Art wrapped in wreaths, Bonsai of Firs and Pines.
Creaked the Christmas trees..
Huddled in glittering lines.
No black-capped chickadees...
No icicles of snowflakes.
Only elegant delicate prunings...
Of outgrown heartaches.
A nemesis prays ," Oh ,Santa, Let us grow"..
A journey to the shops.. there they go....
A frosty zephyr... heavy hearted slow.
