Notes About The Poem

Just in case you didn't know :-) :- )
In 1605 a plot to blow up the houses of Parliment was discovered. Guy Fawkes was one of the traitors. Each year on November the 5th his effigy is burned on a bonfire and fireworks are set of all over Britain.... When you think about it, it is an odd custom to have survived all these years...

Bonfire Night

There once was a Fawkes name of Guy
Whose dastardly plans went awry
Now in November
We still remember
And take pleasure in watching him fry

hey, I had no idea what this was about until I read your note inside. Very good limerick on that topic. So was the guy also burned to death in his mortality as well as in effigy? Congrats to you.
