Body Broken

I know today will end up
so much different from the start
I will be unrecognisable
my limbs will fall apart
I'll break my heart and lose my mind
my head stuck below ground
I'll drag my feet and wring my hands
deaf ears will hear no sound
I'll sew my lips together so
my screams stick in my throat
dont want exhales escaping
so my fingers pinch my nose

I know today will end up
so much different from the start
collecting excess pieces
from my broken bitter heart
no band-aids and no bandages
can keep me feeling whole
a big black hole of sorrow
where there should have been a soul
I woke today as nothing
but a shell of strangled screams
And by tonight i'll realise
nothings as bad as it seems.

What a way to start my week, reading the words that are flowing from your soul Jodie. May you find the inspiration each day to continue writing and sharing your wonderful poetry with us. Love, Carol
