Luna shares her sunlit surface With the night Knowing she depends on her Love, for light. For eons they have shared the Sky in space, As both share with Earth their Power and grace. Sol controls the four seasons That he guides. Luna sways our moods along With ocean tides. Both are needed for our dear Earth to thrive. Let’s give thanks for God's creations And being alive. © Connie Marcum Wong Note: On Monday, Nov. 14 2016 Earthlings will be treated to a so-called supermoon - the closest full moon of the year.Monday's supermoon will be extra super - it will be the closest the moon comes to us in nearly 69 years since 1948.

I am not a bit sure of the definitions of Luna or Sol though they are familiar words. I do know when I feel succinct beauty penned as you have here. You enchant while you inform - a delightful combination. Tonight you have brought me to tears and convinced me to use a dictionary. Love you ... CayCay

Luna is the Moon Goddess and Sol the Sun God in Roman mythology. Thank you CayCay. It is always wonderful to read your sweet comments. I hope you had a blessed Thanksgiving. Love, Connie : )

yes, we must always give thanks for so many things that shape our world. For me the supermoon looked about the same as always! I enjoyed seeing this one though! Did it appear very big for you, Connie?

Hi Connie , You have penned a well written tribute piece. in honor of the moon(and the sun). It is sooo beautiful. I like Leonora didn't get the chance to see the supermoon. I know it was a beautiful sight. Well done-7:-) Alexis

Fascinating write my dear friend, Connie. So sad, I missed the supermoon. Perhaps, it was still early when I went out that night. I love and enjoyed a lot your poem. Thanks a lot for sharing! Have a great week! Love and hugs, Leonora

Stellar read Connie, love a charmed full moon! The technical name is the perigee-syzygy of the Earth–Moon–Sun system - try writing that one poetically. :)

This was a fitting poem to go with the occasion, Connie. It is good to keep in mind the 'light' relationship which exists between the sun and moon, and the effect they both have on us and our earth. Regards....paul

Connie, what a lovely tribute to our glorious Moon as well as our Sun as a team. Yes, we did see her brilliant glow last night, but as San commented, it was higher in the sky. Beautiful poem! 7, Hugs, Sandra
