Blurry Memories
Some things are quite beyond the width of our arms.
You can always see it,
Like a taunting shining glimmer of light,
Licking your fingertips with its rays of perceived warmth,
But doing nothing more.
In this darkness of mind we search for the sun,
Wanting to escape from the cold and the sadness of night.
Dreaming of glistening sparks brightening our gaze,
And the warmth of happiness that comes with it.
But we can only dream from then on.
To touch a spark is like something new,
You feel it once in full glorious emotion,
Then only whispers forevermore.
Blurry lines of once felt happiness,
Leaving you even colder than before.
Memories lure us day and night,
That we have to make more to satisfy our thirst.
Glistening orbs of sunsets past,
Just beyond the touch of our skin,
To never shine full again.
