Bluesday

Sun please don’t rise tomorrow
Or the next day if you can
As my aching heart can’t face another day
Let nights cloak wrap around me
And hide me from my woes
When I lay my head to pillow
And my eyes I finally close

Let not my heart be troubled
By the problems of the day
So I can sleep at peace with all the world
And if daylight don’t break my slumber
Or some nightmare from the past
I shall sleep until the nightfall
When I will be safe at last

Hi Andrew; This is a very nice but sad poem. I guess many people feel like that, when they are at their worst. Last year I was bedridden for five months. I am still around. God knows us better then we know ourselves. Thanks for sharing this with us.... Lucilla

Sorry to hear of your illness Lucilla. Yes this was a bad time in my life and I did not know which way to turn. One way you lose a daughter the other way you lose your family. Hence the poem. thank you for your lovely comments. May God continue to give you good health to enjoy life and her virtues. God bless you. Andy

Some days you don't want to get out of bed, other days are so great that you don't want them to end. We hope for more of the latter, but you've captured the former well here.

We all face days and nights like that but still the sun rises and sets for life has traced the way for us! Certainly a beautiful day will rise for you as soon as the window of your heart is opened! Marvelous verse, powerful and romantic. Great work my friend Robert!

Efharisto Demetrios, this was a long time ago and the good Lord has looked down on me. We do not get what we want but we certainly get what we need. Thank you for your kind words. Have a look at Mikis Theodorakis East Berlin 1987 Strosse to stroma sou yia thio the bosouki playing is awesome. Andy O Irlandos
