Blue To Black

The vase in the window has turned from blue to black it is disappearing, twilight has consumed it. The cat asleep on the front lawn has also dissolved. In the whole countless starry constellation only one star has broken through. I watch its faraway light play around the rim of a shadow-vase like a firefly.
