"blue Eyes"

Karrie was lovely with beaming blue eyes
My heart was aflame, I couldn't disguise-
I offered my hand, she led me afar;
Left me next day for the boy with a car!

I cried till I ached then combed my long hair-
Walked down the long road of toiling despair;
I met a young woman with eyes so blue,
Who warmly embraced me the cold night through!

Now summer is here, the birds sweetly sing
My thoughts have turned to a diamond ring;
My lady was out when I answered the phone,
Her hubby from prison said he'd "soon be home!"

My motto is clear; I believe it's true-
I'm very unlucky with eyes of blue!
