Blue Elephants and Red Donkeys
Our nation is divided
extremes of left, extremes of right
with no compromise in sight
America burns and hate is strong
can't we agree riots and looting are wrong
stop tearing us down time to build us up
let love overflow in our nations cup
Some are blue, some are red
those in between too confused to be led
An honest neutral media does not exist
so the angry fighting forever persist
Can we not agree to respect opposing views
discuss our difference without being rude
Realize we are one nation under God
Have peace and justice and end the mob
No nation or people are without sin
slavery happen to every color of men
The world did not begin to be free
until America's republic govern with democracy
Agreeing to be civil with respect the key
over time and with understanding let there be
a blending of thoughts crowned by liberty
will soon have blue elephants and red donkeys
