Blue Day At the Beach

With sand sifting through my fingers
 and the waves tickling my toes
I sit in quiet contemplation
 while my somber mood grows

Then I walk along the shore
 with haunting memories of you
Unseen scars of heartache
 leave me feeling blue

I’ll come back again tomorrow
 searching for peace in my heart
Like the broken seashells I walk among
 seeking their missing part
