Blue Bones

Blue is the blood running through veins
Making you human.
Blue is like an elephants lonely cry
For which there is no reply.
Blue is lips frozen solid, parting
For one "last" cigarette.
Blue is like a lighthouse ringing
Out alone in the still dead night.
Blue is pain and regret as you get the call
Telling you that they're not
Coming home.
Blue is a blackness that
Consumes your soul.
Dragging you under.
It is all the pent up
Hurt hidden in your
Bones.
Blue is complete and
Utter despair hidden
In the deepest
Parts of your heart.
Blue is absolute.
