Blue and White
Do you see what I see
Up in the sky?
Have I gone to sleep?
Or did I just die?
Do my eyes deceive me?
It could be a dream.
After all, many things
Are not what they seem.
Oh, how I wish I could tell you
The splendor I see up above
On this day in October.
It’s better than being in love.
A white never seen,
A blue truer still.
I shall never forget it,
Though no doubt some will.
A chill wind drifts past me
And makes all complete.
On this day in October
God has sent me a treat.
The magic of pure snowy clouds,
The wonder of lapis blue skies
Are almost too painful
To take in with mere eyes.
