This Week's Poetry Challenge: The Color Blue, August 24 - 30, 2026
Write a poem inspired by the color blue.
Blue
I love to be surrounded by the hues of blue,
soft, pastel or dark bring me serenity,
in nature it is wildflowers, turquoise water,
oceans, lakes, rivers, butterflies, birds,
the azure sky, a cornflower lily,
periwinkle and sapphire blooms.
I find it on a forest hike in the morning.
the cityscape of a city hike in afternoons,
my dreamy garden any time of the day,
my love's cobalt blue eyes when we kiss,
grapes, berries, oh there must be much more,
this color brings me happiness.
