Blossoms of God
The Japanese cherry blossom
Trembles beneath my window,
I think back to when
I thought I saw god in the bloom.
Walking the mile
To the locked up church,
Bolted fast, heavy oak,
My stomach churning
With apprehension,
And disappointment
At finding its emptiness
Laid bare in the sunlight.
