One night I lay in bed. It was in spring.
Outside my house were tiny buds on trees.
I spied them from my window blossoming
before my eyes, and then as if to tease
me, they grew huge with multi-colors bright.
They broke free from their branches; up they rose
enchantingly into the star-filled night -
not blossoms any more, I would suppose!
I raced outside to see how high they’d lift
as if they were balloons that were fleeing!
They’d grown transparent. As I watched them drift,
it dawned on me - bubbles I was seeing!
A beeping sound ensued. The bubbles popped!
That damn alarm! My lovely dream was stopped.
