Notes About The Poem

Colorful soap bubbles

Blossoms and Bubbles

One night I lay in bed. It was in spring. Outside my house were tiny buds on trees. I spied them from my window blossoming before my eyes, and then as if to tease me, they grew huge with multi-colors bright. They broke free from their branches; up they rose enchantingly into the star-filled night - not blossoms any more, I would suppose! I raced outside to see how high they’d lift as if they were balloons that were fleeing! They’d grown transparent. As I watched them drift, it dawned on me - bubbles I was seeing! A beeping sound ensued. The bubbles popped! That damn alarm! My lovely dream was stopped. April 4. 2015/ Sonnet for the Blossoms and Bubbles Contest of Olive Eloisa Guillermo

Very neat write Andrea. I was pulled right in and really liked the ending, which adds even more to this "dreamy" piece. Great to read your work always. Take care!

I think your beautiful sonnet would present better on the page if left aligned but nonetheless it's what's within that's most important and in that you have written a truly awesome poem in sonnet form. Thanks for sharing it with Poetry Soup.

Something always come along to "burst your bubble". Went to a public seder tonight and tomorrow one at my family's. Met some writers tonight. Woman seem to be overtaking us men. I once entered a contest and my girl of the time did, too - she won a prize - I did not! Good luck in the contest! Peace & Love Matthew Anish'
