Bloomington, My Home

The rain cascades over the roofs of stone The wind sways their foundations as they start to groan I walk on the paths in aimless direction These are the places I shared my affection Cream for the innocence with which my heart is filled Crimson for the scars, and all my blood I've spilled I continue with my winding sojourn And lightning illuminates what I have learned The loves that have come and gone Or the pain that just keeps marching on I pass the creek in which I'd like to drown And the trees where my body could be found But the storm lets up, and stars fill the sky The beauty I see won't allow me to die

I love how this became a message of revival, from seeing the beauty all around you. So glad I found this gem of yours near the bottom of the page. One of your best, Danny. People are thinkiing I have cancer or something because of the way I wrote my poem, but I don't (knock on wood) I just really hate what it is doing to people!!

I see no comment posted on this inspiring, moving and beautiful poem, Daniel. Your observation is profound, contemplating death for a moment, but then..." The storm lets up, and the stars fill the sky the beauty I see won't allow me to die. "The beauty you mention is the awesome creation of the Almighty whose love and compassion fills a sad heart with a new hope and promise. Keep on writing, young man and shine like the sun! Have a Happy Thanksgiving with your loved ones. Peace and Love, Andrew.
