Bloom takes its hold

As the last petal falls, Fall chases out summer. Dead leaves drift into halls, Winds hum like a drummer. Days were spent very short, As long nights bring deep sleeps. Cold breeze came as escort To the houses it sweeps. Frost adorns windowpanes, While the coal fire glows. Golden fields brim with grains, Hens cluck as a cock crows. The last petal still swirls As the night air turns cold. Soft dawn shimmers like pearls, As the bloom takes its hold.
