Bloody Kiss

surrounded by blankets, totally warm
touched by the slightest chills
both, they lull me to slumber
i feel the purr of my cat as he nestles
above my head
then against my throat
his fur is so warm
his purr is like a lullaby
i drift into endless sleep
until the bright light wakes me
i groan in angst, pull the covers above my face
silently curse, to my disgrace

only half awake, feeling faint
my every thought, sleepiness taints.
eyelids droop heavily
opening wide when splashed with the frigid chill
of the days gray wind
a sulky smile plays my lips,
my teeth bite in
my blood spills
its taste runs down my throat
the crimson color stains my pallid lips
dripping lightly onto yours
as we share
our true loves kiss.
