Notes About The Poem

In a lunar eclipse the earth passes between the sun and moon and the earth casts a shadow, there is a scattering of sunlight through our atmosphere which gives the moon a deep red colour commonly known as a blood moon.

These lunar eclipses happen twice a year.

Big congrats on your win. In reply to YOUR reply I see down here, last time I tried to see a blue moon, it just did not work out. I went outside and it did not seem blue to me!!

Thanks Andrea, a blue moon is the second full moon in any month which is a rarity, not really blue as such. Tom

Tom, the sprinkle of sunlight is so totally fine writing. I feel there is cartoon art, regular art, and fine art. This poem is fine art.

Thanks Andrea, well you could be in luck( the next blood moon is due on July 27/28 of this year 2018) you might have to get up at a funny hour to see it, but worth seeing if you've never witnessed one. Date for your diary. Tom

Thanks Jan, When I saw the pics I thought Im not much of a romantic or gardener but know a bit about space so went for the moon. Hope I got it right , never done a monoku before. tom
