Blood Born

into his hands she was born
bloody and screaming
mmmmm mmmmm he toned under his breath
rocking her moving her
following his body
as the busy work of the birthing room wound on
mmmmm mmm
and her wailing stopped
as she saw his eyes
and she heard the voice she had slept to for months
mmmmmmm shhhhh
rocking rocking
her father held her safe
in his hands
she was born.
