Bloated Heart

this heart
challenged an ocean
only to beach on a cay
    called indifference

             now
bloated with ill emotion
no chance of rescue
to tempt karma's brutal swell
would be futile

          this heart
dances like a drunken crab
swaying across the bleached sand
stumbling out into the surf
into the nest of an old sea hag
