Blindness
I no longer see the world- as you do
yet, I remember it well-
blue skies, fluffy clouds, a bright sun
rain, hail, thunder and snow
Now I can smell the changes- hear them.
I no longer see the faces I love
yet, I remember them well-
laughter, tears and smiles too
Now they live only in my memory.
I no longer see the beauty of creation
yet, I remember it well-
dawn, dusk, nature, tall trees, children
Now I listen to the news and feel sadness-
war, disaster, death, destruction, hate-
close your eyes and see.
